Office or Creativity/Sewing Space declutter challenge!
Lets crack this egg this week and get things going again. My kitchen is torn apart... so are all of my rooms basically. Need to sit down and make a plan...
Whos with me???

I was just thinking I need to do this. Now I have motivation! Thanks.
Intro since I am new to the decluttering board:
My name is Crissy and I am a packrat!! I am married to a packrat. I have one son, and a baby on the way.
Off to re-organize my sewing corner, since it has become a catchall for other things.

I'm gonna delurk here to do this one. I didn't get before pictures, wasn't sure if I'd actually follow thru, but this is as decluttered as my sewing/crafting/school room gets. The boxes in the corner are on their way to the post office, that's their temporary home.

Christy I think that looks pretty good from here! Way better than mine.... great job! Thanks for sharing... it looks so loved and useable! I love that look... I consistantly get more there but I tend to think I will like a steril look and then hate it after a few months because it does not look lived in. I just LOVE the home warm room you have there!
I'm in too. Fortunately I just did my sewing space and desk area a week ago so they will only need a little sprucing. That will give me time to work on the kids room. I will show before and after pics. Warning now though...when I went to take the before pic I couldn't even get the door all the way open (leftover mess from when my niece was here in March - we just shut the door to the room and haven't been in there since).
Looking forward to seeing everyone's progress.

I'm afraid. . . really afraid. my dh's office looks like, well. it looks like...well it's really, really bad. I worked so hard at cleaning it up before Passover - went in there over passover to find out that it was trashed again.
I'm so sick of cleanng up his messes - but I know that eventually I've got to dive back in.
Anyone want to come and hold my hand while I do this? I need company (for support and to say to me: Get your bottom down there and get to work!).

So your dh will actually let you clean up his stuff? Mine wants to be there so I don't get rid of anything he thinks he might need. He's really not the messy one though - I am worse, but we're both improving and this decluttering will really help because there just won't be the stuff around to get messy.
Really though I think the office is the hardest area to keep clean because there is always stuff coming in and going out. This will probably have to be a regular challenge, like once a month have a quickie office declutter challenge.
Good luck!

Oh, I made a little progress today in the kids room...I can actually open the door now.

I'm with ya! Still really, really sick, so it will likely be a weekend job. I really need to work on this room the most of any in my house though. I also need to file my taxes, but I can't until I sort the two banker's boxes full of paperwork in the...office.
My house is so trashed right now. Yuck. I rested tonight and hopefully tomorrow will feel well enough to get it spruced up.

Hows everyone doing this week? I did really well at the begining, and now it is sort of tapered off... but I have a garage sale tomorrow, so I gotta get on it...
I am getting off now and going to finish two pairs of pants... send all my packages out... set up for a garage sale... and clean my sewing room. Few... makes me tired just thinking about it. lol...

We survived the move!
Now there are so many boxes; didn't purge before the move because I GROSSLY underestimated how much time I needed to pack & prepare; had to just stuff everything in a hurry... that would have made too much sense!
We have mostly just placed the large furniture so far; along with all the boxes, here's the BEFORE picture. I'll update with the after shot Sunday.
ROFL! I will add the BEFORE pics once I find the hotwire to get them off the camera.

WOW! Becky, great job! I can't even believe that is the same bedroom.
Well, I just managed to get my house somewhat caught up this week. But, I have been sick and I had some unexpected appointments and things to deal with. <sigh>
Maybe next week I can get back on track. Monday and Tuesday are devoted to getting my son's school paperwork in order. After that I can hopefully catch up, as my husband will be home. Yay!
