I'm here! But without camera, so you will have to rely on my wonderful descriptions, LOL.

I just put 80% of our toys in stackable plastic (yes, plastic, LOL) shoe boxes in our living room closet. It's a nice deep closet and fit just about everything including two underbed boxes of trains. (Hard to dump, and you can see what's in them easily, so no need to dump!)

The kids' room proper is a total mess, though. Katie's clothes are everywhere, and I'm somewhere in the middle of picking up the toys and sorting them in there. The art table is just about buried in stuff. Closets need some reorganization.

This is on my list of to do's for tomorrow. I will try to take before photos but I can't always get them to post.

I need to sort through their toys some more and decide what we should keep and what we should get rid of. It is so hard to decide if I should put some stuff in rotation or get rid of it.

How do you decide?

I'm in.......

Thanks for going ahead and starting this. I came over to do it today, cause the last few days have been sooo busy and you'd done it for me. LOL

I am just starting today but it shouldn't take me long.

I'd love to do the master bedroom/bathroom next week if that works for you all?

Off to get busy.

Well I didn't take pictures. But I did get the boys room cleaned (dusted and everything put away) and the play room cleaned up. I don't know how good a job I did with the decluttering. I did move 2 big rubbermaid boxes of toys out to the garage and I moved 3 large rubbermaid containers of clothes out to the garage.

I have continually gone through our toys since january and I am at the point now that I don't know what to keep and what else to get rid of.

I moved the boys soccer goal and basketball goal out to the patio and that really opened up the floor space so I am hoping that will give them more room to play in there.

I have one more load of laundry to do and i will be caught up with that also. It feels good to have a clean house! I sitll have to clean off my desk but I am going to work on that this afternoon and tonight.

I'm planning to do it Wednesday while the boys are at preschool. No pictures though; I'm picture challenged, LOL.

Peace,

Kimberly

The kids share the bedroom with us. I have IKEA shelves and baskets in our closet (waist high) for their clothes and our clothes hung up above. That rooms ok except just keeping up on the laundry and putting away. Now the kids play room is also 'ok' but I do need to do another sort and toss in there.

I plan on getting something to organize the kids storyteller felts this week and do a looksie through their toy baskets. I also need to do something about the kids craft supplies. Everything they own needs to fit in the storage I have and be accessable for them and easy for them to help put away.

Thanks for the push,
Sarah<-----who gladly has no problem tossing and donating any and all un-needed or un-desired 'gifts' from less than thoughtful relatives

I did it! I moved out 3 bins of toys, a container of hot wheels and some track, 6 puzzles, Tinkertoys, a dollhouse, a wooden tool bench, and a few other things (all went to the garage for rotation). I threw away 1 bag of miscellaneous plastic junk, a broken wooden rollercoaster type toy, and a broken CD player. I tossed one bag of clothes that were beyond hope, and put together 2 bags of clothes to hand down to a friend. I cleaned out their closet and their dressers.

Now we'll see what they miss!

Peace,

Kimberly

Friday update.

I'm getting there. I have put away a ton of stuff in the kids' room, including their art supplies. It needs finetuning.

Then I still need to put away a humungous basket of Katie's clean clothes. Basically her whole wardrobe.

I also need to reorganize their art supplies.

I met with our coordinator today and she is going to help me with visual supports for the toys in the living room closet. We are going to put pictures on all of them, then have a choice board where he can pull off a matching picture of what he wants to play with. This will help with his language and also keep the mess contained! He needs to be able to choose...yesterday he was looking longingly at his matchbox car case (empty of cars now that they are in a sterilite shoebox) and I felt so bad! Of course I got his cars down right away but I need to have a system so he can request the toys he wants.

I DID IT! I got off the computer and started on the kids play room, and it looks GREAT! I still have a whole closet to do, but that is where I load all of the Goodwill stuff so I am going to keep it all until I am done with the decluttering of the whole house. Here is a before picture and an after picture:

And after #2: (don't you love Cyan doing Yoga while drinking soy milk in the first one. lol... I think that is SO cute. )

Edited to say that I put all the plastic toys in the playroom and WOW look at all that plastic... put it in one place and even I seem like I have a lot. lol! That is amazing!

I second this. My master bed/bath is awful. I have been out of sync for about 3 weeks now and my house (especially the master b/b) has paid a horrible price.

This is where I'll be working next week. I would love a challenge to keep me accountable. lol

Well, I am almost done.......

I have everything sorted and in the proper place. It will be pretty easy to go through things, cause I've done this recently. I got off track because I was sick for several days this week. I expect I can finish up in about 45 minutes though.

I don't know how to post pictures. LOL But maybe I can get my dh to do it for the next challange.
