...as a total aside, Bonnie I was curious about the curriculums at K&F. I didn't know that you were the one that did them. Is there somewhere where I can read more info about them?
Yup, that's me Sometimes I think I may wear too many hats, lol! I don't have info up anywhere other than in the descriptions themselves. The units each consist of 8 sections: creative art (though the gnomes unit is creative art and outdoor projects), nature table crafts (where you will see some things that I do for these swaps, lol), music and movement, math, science and nature, language, cooking (which is the section I am working on now ... gnome related cooking, lol!), and places to go/people to see. Each section has 6 activities, so if you are using one activity fro each section a week (as in if you had a day for doing a cooking activity, a day for doing math activity, etc.), then each unit would be 6 weeks long. But how you use the activities, in what frequency and order is totally up to each family. Ther is also a booklist of our favorite books at the end for that particular theme.
The units are for early childhood, appropriate for children 2ish to 7 or 8. Most of the activities have many levels on which they can be used/presented. Most can be done with younger children with assistance, and by older children with no assistance. I use the activities with Kenna, but everything I do with her, Holden also participates in, and has since he was able to sit up at the table with us. He's almost 2 now, and just participates at whatever level he can. He is really just starting to speak with lots of words now, but doesn't speak in sentences or anything yet, so the activities in the language section that invlove storytelling with your hcild are not appropriate for him, but he can label the items that come out of the story bag and we can talk about what each one is, etc.
If you have any specific questions, email me - craftymom @ snet.net (no spaces) and I'd be happy to answer them

As a beverage, the gnome drinks mead dew (fermented honey), fermented raspberries (which have a very high alcohol content), and spiced gin as a nightcap
That's what I had found on what gnomes drink, so I think beer steins would be appropriate, lol! They need something to drink their highly alcoholic fermented honey and raspberries
You ar SOOOOO luccky my name is on that list. I almost choked. Thank you! I was too busy entertaining and feeding all the guys who howed up here yesterday unannounced.
I am going to make a forest animal, not sure which one, but I don't have a squirrel yet, so am thinking nutty, lol
