I don't see why they wouldn't dye wood. Maybe just not as dark as they would dye an egg. All of the dyes that I use to dye wool/silk (which also work on eggs) also dye my kitchen table (which is way too many colors at this point to count, lol), so I am guessing that the natural dyes will stain the wood eggs.

And if not, you can always try papier mache eggs or wool eggs! The natural dyes should definitely dye wool eggs.

Oh yeah, I hadn't even thought of wool eggs!! I have plenty of batt that I can felt up. That would be a lot of fun!!!
Paper mache would be fun too but a little daunting (considering the gluey mess that 3 children can create.) Wish you could see my kitchen table after I let 2 of them loose with glitter, glue and other misc craft items to make Valentine's for their homeschool classes. What a glorious crafty mess!! Makes a mama proud!!

Teeny tiny. I can't find them at the moment; they are somewhere in my crafty swap shelves, but they are bendy sized and really small!

i found glass eggs all swirly and pretty from oriental trading (believe it or not) so i ordered them and i was gonna make cozies which i still can - but i just got more magic wool book and inside is a cute little bunny made out of wool roving and the egg sits on his back side. i am gonna make one to see if it looks close to a bunny (its more an illusion of a bunny..kwim?) if it looks too much like 2 knots in wool roving...i'm gonna go with the cozies. i'm not gonna do the egg cups though since i got the eggs

Everything sounds so cute! That sounds good to me.

I made a dozen bendy sized eggs (read SMALL) and an sending bendy sized baskets too, but I wanted to send more things so I am sending a stuffed bunny (purchased) to stick into an ostara/easter basket and some easter pencils.

Oooooo...we love bunnies here. We would love to have a pet bunny..but hubby said no Not until we move..and who knows when that will be..sigh.

I did think of one other thing. I think I will make Fimo eggs..and then foil them to make a golden egg for everyone too

We have bunnies here. We started out with 6 before the kiddos were born. We have three still now (the others have passed away) and they are so cute

We, I mean I !

I also made felted eggs with wool chicks to hatch out of them. I didn't realize they were supposed to be bendy sized and these are not. They are normal size egg with a little fuzzy chick inside. They are cute. My children are just crazy about them and have been carrying the one they think is theirs around for days, treating it like a baby. Will post some pics when I finish a few more. The beaks and eyes are hard to put on a tiny fuzzy thing!!!
