Zoe-Ann -- I didn't give the kids the lunch box sets for Christmas because I didn't have a chance to cut out the fairy and gnome magnets. I had forgotten I had put them on top of the microwave cart. Tonight while we were making a dessert for New YEar's Day dinner, Kenna found hers. So we opened up the lunch box and looked at all the little pouches and envelopes and treasures ... she was just gushing about each and every little thing. She then asked me if I ordered this for her on the internet, lol, and I said no, that someone had made it for her in one of the swaps. She asked me to go on the computer and give you a message:
From McKenna -- Thank you for the treasure set! I love it. It is gorgeous. I love you so much!
Kenna has been in a bit of a rut lately with her fantasy play ... she hadn't wanted to set up her nature tabe for winter/New Year or put up any of the things she had gotten for Christmas. Until she got the lunch box. We spent over an hour setting up her nature table scences, finding places to hide the little envelopes, finding treasures that she wanted to leave for the gnomes, pixies, elves, fairies, etc. I just had to share her message and to say thank you again myself. Those boxes are truly wonderful! I have put Holden's away for when he gets just a tiny bit bigger (he is only just turning 2 in February ).
Oh that is so nice! Please give her a nice big hug and a butterfly kiss from me.
I am so pleased that she is enjoying them.
Has anyone done the scavenger hunt? I am dying to know how they went.
I also have put Grayson's away until he gets older. It will be a fun thing to dig out in about a year.

Dear Mom and Dad- I may parent differently than you did. This does not mean that I think you did it "wrong." However, it also does not mean I am doing it wrong.
We did the scavenger hunt yesterday, it was great! Dylan was so excited. I had left the scroll on the nature table, so when I picked him up from his dads he found it there. He came running saying there was something new. So I read him the scroll and off we went to find everything. Brigitta and my Mom also joined in. We had to wait til dark to finish up, and that was the hardest part. I had mentioned my curiosity about what the fairies would leave him, and he was quite indignant that I would be thinking about that when the fairy queen was in danger.
Once it got dark we went out and put everything around the candle, Dylan helped with it all. We all blew a phoenix feather, and Dylan and I sprinkled the herbs, and cracked open the stones. This morning Dylan checked the nature table and the fairy token was there. He was thrilled. The only issue he had with the whole thing is that he thought the goblins were going to come after him last night, since they were bold enough to take the fairy queen.

Oh it was awesome! I think his concern over the goblins is over since the fairy queen is safe. I had him gather up all the goodies we left outside last night(in case the fairies contact us in the future to help out again )
