Well as you may now we have a ton of chestnuts, Oak and walnut trees around here. Anyone want to do a fun swap where we send whatever nuts or seeds (or shells if you live near the ocean) are native to our area?

I think it would be fun to send 1 or 2 per child in the household if you can

what do you think?

I would send chestnuts (these are horse chestnuts, they are not edible), black walnuts and acorns.

anyone interested in this? It coudl be a fun way to teach our kids about different areas

That would be neat to do. Although our nuts/trees are pretty similar to yours...acorn, black walnut, hickory, and english chestnut. I might be able to round up a few more types too. Hey, do your chestnut have the spiney needles...thousands of them on it? My 2 yo ds is still getting the tiny needle tips out of the bottom of his foot from 4 weeks ago, you would think he would've learned to keep his shoes on

but nope he goes back for more.

Anyway, is there any dates in mind for shipping? Would we just get a master list of names/addresses and ship to each person ourselves?

yeah i think that would be cool, just to ship out to everyone seperate. I already sent some stuff to Gaga as tehre didnt; appear to be any interest.
but i would love to send you soem things too

our chestnuts are horse chestnuts, so there are spikes on the husks but only one every cm or so. still prickily but not like yours

my son stepped on afew too, and ;he didnt; learn either. I think its something about being 2 yrs old

i think its really neat to see the different acorns that grow!

I'd like to send you some too. I'm pming you my addy now, could you pm me yours too? We just were down in Cape May with our friends and the kids collected tons of shells so I will send some of those to you too. They loved identifying everything we brought in
