I have had this one in mind for a while, ever since someone (I think it was cherrysberries) posted about stories and nature table items. Anyone interested? I would want ot make this one a small swap, maybe just 5 mamas so everyone would only need to make 4 sets for their chosen fairy tale. Choose a story and then create a set of items from the story for nature tables. For example, I am thinking about doing The Princess and The Pea; I would make everyone in the swap a queen, prince and princess bendy, and also a set of "mattresses" and include the pea. For The Three Bears, you might needle felt 3 bears, make a bendy Goldilocks and some clay porridge bowls ... You would just choose one tale and make the set for the other 4 mamas in the swap. Everyone can mail to me and I will sort and package all the sets to mail back to everyone. I am thinking end of July for a mail by date (so that we can start a fall nature table swap at the end of July with a mailing date of end of August/beginning of September ). If there is interest, once we get the participants, everyone can choose their tale so that no one is doing the same one.
So who's in with me? Stacey and Heather - what about you two??

And see what I've been up to at:
I am looking thru grimm's fairy tales now to see what a good one would be....rupuzel would be fun. repunzil, the witch, her suitor, the tower, and maybe the twins(from grimms version)
I also have the tale of the little little old woman from elsa beskow, that would be cute, old woman, little cat, little cow, pail of milk
Ever hear of her or this book?
I am still searching tho
and finally, they can be sewn or knit or felted right? Anyway?
If anyone wants to make any extra sets, I'd buy them from you.. I just don't have the time or energy before this baby comes (and most likely for awhile after).
Okay okay - you've twisted my arm! It would be a heck of a lot easier if I didn't know Bonnie and Stacey IRL Although, Stacey could just give me everything that was on her mantle Monday and I would be okay with that. Of course it's just a suggestion....and I'd let you keep your blueberries from Where's Waldorf.
ETA: When I see you next Stacey i'll have to look at your books. I can't find my Grimm's tales and I haven't gotten any fairytale books for Maya yet.
how do you test your nature table items? give them to maegan who will pull off all the nicely felted leaves off my blossom baby I made last night, again and again and again! arg!
