I am making soap again :D

And having so much fun! My step Dad is going into the city tomorrow and picking up some more supplies for me (he goes into Seattle every Saturday to meet my big brother for gas powered RC airplane flying and boating and is within 2 blocks of the place I can get local stuff ) and I am going to be making TONS of soap

So, if anyone is interested for buying or trading Let me know!

here are a few pictures... I can't beleive its been so long since I last made soap... though, really, I can, since I have been buying wahm soap for the last year instead of making my own, ROFL... 12 years of soapmaking under my belt... and I have been buying it.. where is the homer "d'oh!" smilie???

anyhow... I am pretty excited I haven't made soap on a large scale since pretty much before Anna was born but I am going to do a LOT this holiday season etsy, here I come... wish me luck

lol, forgot to add the massage bar is clarysage and patchouli, the multilayers bar (my new favorite!) is done in layers of color and layers of scent the top layer is done with clary sage and parsley for color (stays green, unlike most herbs used in soap...), the middle layer is lavender with alkanet powder for color, the bottom layer is colored a very pale blue only because I used german chamomile essential oil for cololr (and scent) and spearmint The pale blue color will fade ...eventually.. maybe in 6 months or a year... but will always have a tinge of color... and one hopes you would use the soap in those 6 months or a year LOL... but there are no other natural ways to get blue, I don't think at least not without staining your body! )

and here is another batch

Oh Selena! Those look absolutely delicious!!

I nearly bought a soapmaking kit to experiment with last week, but I chickened out. LOL I would love to make soap for my own family and friends.
Is it tricky? Do you have any book recommendations? I think it would be a fantastic Christmas gift.

yes ma'am

here is another picture

I really wouldn't recommend books anymore... the wealth of information on the internet is amazing..

Miller's Homemade Soap Page start here I can sell you coconut if you need it, I am buying it in bulk now or you can get small containers of it with the cooking oils at the health food stores. Usually 14 ounces for $5 or $6 (Or I can sell it to you for $2 a pound plus shipping-probably could fit 3 or 4 in a flat rate envie or unlimited in a flat rate box). get a stick blender

email me when you have read through miller's page then we can talk the intricacies

Soap isn't hard, you just have to be safe and its kinda pricey to start up.

I should have soap to sell on the market board next week
