sarah needed a blanket for her doll, so i wracked my brain and decided on a love theme (because sarah is always doing the ASL "love" sign to everyone). of course now that its done sarah told me that she doesnt like it ( ) but lylly gave me a hug and said she would like to use it for her dolls.

materials:
red felt
cream muslin
sandy corduroy
red embroidery floss
sand embroidery floss
offwhite embroidery floss
red quilting thread

first i traced sarahs hand onto a piece of paper. then i traced that onto red felt, cut it out pinned down the 2 middle fingers and appliquéd it onto the muslin. sarah and lylly drew hearts on paper and i traced them onto the red felt and cut them out, then appliquéd them as well.

next i took a quilting pencil and drew on one of my favourite beatles songs and then embroidered over it with two different colours of embroidery floss (backstitch). to fill up some empty space i also backstitched some tiny freehand hearts in red quilters thread.

then i put the right sides of the fabrics together and machine sewed 3 sides. then turned it rightside out and sewed around the edging twice. for flair i added an embroidered heart thru both fabrics.

and here it is all finished
