Great-Uncle Autumn in Progress/ added squirrel and some cardinals

Not sure what else he needs. I originally planned on making some squirrels, and there is actuall a burrow behind his beard so they can live in the tree, but now I'm thinking I need something a bit more colorful for contrast. I've been looking at this thing too long. My brain is mush.

Edit
Added a cardinal and squirrel.

I liked the cardinal so well that I made a larger one as a toy/pincushion/nature table display. The feet turned out kinda cool. They are cotton wrapped pipecleaners (like doing a bendy) that I stitched into place and then needlefelted legs areound the tops. I think I might make some ornaments kinda like this for our Yule tree. Lorelei thinks they make great fingerpuppets.

Yeah, I'm not so sure I want to sell him. He's supposed to go in my HyenaCart on Monday. I'm thinking it would be awesome to crochet sort of a fluffy boa kinda leaf thing for each season and update him through the year by wrapping it among the branches.

You should keep him. It will be so special to have something like that to be a tradition throughout the year(s). Adding things to him, taking things off...You have really inspired me to get to my own projects, so thank you

she can't keep him.. he lives at my house now

Hastings, I haven't had time to email you yet - but he's absolutely incredible. I wish you could have seen Leila's reaction. She froze, then her face lit up and this giggle came out of her.. she sat down on the floor (I'd set him on the couch) to stare at him and kept telling me "eyes" and giggling. Then she kissed him. In doing so, she noticed the "kirl" and "burd" and took off with them. She was absolutely heartbroken when it all went to the nature table. Lindsey and Josh were delighted too -Lindsey wanted to know if I had your number so she could call you and tell you she loves you and that you, Selena and Danielle are her favorite people to get packages from. Josh by this point was ignoring me as I'd shown him the secret hiding spot.

You're so incredibly talented. I'm totally in awe.

Ah thanks I'm glad he has a fabulous home. And tell Lindsey thank you-- its pretty cool to get to be in such awesome company as Selena and Dannielle.

I'm working on a similar one for us now, but I have to get a shelf put up for our nature table stuff since L keeps taking off with things. She keeps taking the half-finished tree and tucking him into her doll cradle. I suppose I DID want to raise a tree-hugger rofl.
