What should I do in Maya's room?

what would you do? I painted Maya's room today and it has blue on the walls for sky and green on the floor for grass. I am going to paint a pons on the florr, maybe a fairy ring too. On the walls there will be trees, flowers and maybe some animals though I am not a painter so by animals I mean snails and bugs I'm using white sheer fabric for the windows / curtains so they billow like clouds.

She will have a special area for her bendies and such - things that Lily can't play with. And a corner for her books and a reading spot.

We got the leaf canopy for over her bed from Ikea, a mirror that closes up like it has shutters and a bug light fixture for the ceiling plus the flower nightlight for the wall.

So what would you do or add?

Good idea! I have the mushroom stools from Where's Waldorf for both of the girls and need a matching table I think.

Here are the links to the canopy and mirror:

And here are the lights: (but the bug light is not there - it looks like the fish light)

It sounds awesome! What are you doing for bedding?

See if your library will loan out an overhead projector. Copy simple coloring book designs onto transparancies and use those to outline animals on the wall.

Maybe add something to the ceiling? I was thinking of those stars that glow in the dark? And/or get some glow-in-dark paint to paint some fireflies on the wall (a cluster above a flower, maybe?).

I love what you've described so far! Pictures, please
OH and if you do the mushroom table/chair, maybe you can put another leaf canopy over it, or some sort of sheer canopy to make a little nook for the table area...

My daughter has som glass bugs on her wall that are fun since they catch the light. Something like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Stained-Glass-La...c mdZViewItem though what we have are three different bugs and they are for hanging on the wall (about 3-5" big).

For bedding I plan to make a giant flower quilt so it looks as if a fairy were sleeping under a flower (it will be round with petals). Although, I may do a giant leaf for her bed - maybe both if I am feeling insane.

We have a builder coming to move a doorway in her room so I'm not quite sure about the final setup right now. As it stands, you have to go through Lily's room to get into Maya's so we are adding a small hallway. we do have a nook though that I was going to put a bookshelf in. mayeb I will make a big chair that looks like a mushroom.

So many ideas! This is why I should have had more children so I could make crazy cakes for them and decorate their rooms.

It sounds wonderful! Duncan has that mirror and we have the light blue canopy. And we have the torch lights. It sounds like you have a wonderful plan for her room. I agree that mushroom stools would be adorable.
