Doll houses... what my kids did with mine. (Pic heavy)

My son can be so sweet sometimes... He sat down with Cyan and they put together her doll house. It looks so great that I had to take pictures. And of course add a little Creaft and Show with the books and the 2" pill boxes that I decorated.

Here it is from a distance. Looks packed full to me from here... but when you get closer there is a lot of rhyme to this full house.

Here is the kitchen... where mama is helping big brother get some carrots for breakfast. (Table and chairs made from tree blocks)

Behind them is the stove complete with canisters and dishes.

And here is papa, putting the baby in the stroller for a walk.

Two princesses chatting it up.

Behind them is the big girls room, along with a fairy to bless it:

The babys room:

Another fairy reading literature about flowers (C&S books covered with old stamps):

Livingroom with fairy sitting in front of the fire place along with a furry friend:

And just outside the kitchen is the root veggie storage. All of the little garden things that were harvested have been put in here. I decopauged tiny butterflies on this, and I think it looks great! I wish that the flash didn't glare off it so much.

I thought all this was so cute and so well put together!

Wow from me, too! Wow I love it! And I think the butterflies came out great on the pot

Where did you get most of your furniture? I especially love the kitchen stuff

Very very very nice arrangement. The stump and ivy behind the house are an awesome touch!

Your gonna love this. Here is my kitchen set:

We made the changing table into a stove and oven combo... then we decorated the rest of the stuff with sharpies. LOL! The canisters we got from Selena. I think I love them more than the kids do.
The table is just two 2" tree blocks under a 4" tree round, and then the chairs from this patio set:

When we started the doll house we were on such a limited budget that anything I bought had to have three or four uses. The kids had to do likewise. I think it looks better than the kitchen set that RR has on the market. Who needs a million peices when all you want is a stove?

OMG! I am rolling - that is too clever! I really love the stove, especially! And I think I've seen those sets on clearance at an online place (off to check) The accessories are adorable but last weekend I went over the edge and collected all teeny tiny things from our sets and put them away in a little box for LATER when dd isn't so.... well, 2! lol! (I love those tiny things more than she does lmao!)

Thanks for the tip, you genius!

Dear Mom and Dad- I may parent differently than you did. This does not mean that I think you did it "wrong." However, it also does not mean I am doing it wrong.

Okay - important questions - did you make the dollhouse yourself? I am going to be on the lookout now for a nice treestump... What is the base made of and how is it attached? I see this in my future

Yep... it started as this:

I found it in a friends back yard. The only complaint I have about it is that it is HEAVY! It takes two people to move it.

After cleaning it out, the next step... the landings:

Everything is made of Poplar wood. It has beautiful colors. If I would have sealed it with some sort of sealant it would have stayed that way... but now it is all oxidized and it is all sort of "pine" looking. LOL!

How did I do it? Screws, a skill saw, and a whole lot of patience.
