Gnome birthday party ideas?

Well, its finally happening, and i really dont; think any amount of denial is going to change the fact that my baby is going to be 3!

so I want to haev a gnome birthday for him, I am going to attempt that awesome toadstool cake Heather posted for her little ones birthday...and yes i haev looked for that thread and i just can't find it

i am also making toadstool cupcakes, as per my dd request....now what cool games and things can i do with the kids?

there will be a 11 mth old, 2 4 yr girls and my 6 yr old dd. perhaps a 3 and 5 yr old as well, so i haev a broad age range but i realy want fun gnome themed ideas. Oh an hunter will be there too

i thought if the wheather was nice we coudl make butterflies and fly them outside, blow bubbles.....i'm sort of stumped after that.

decorations will all me red and white to reflect the toadstool, I'd love to make little toadstool houses for the kids to take home but may opt for needlefelted mushrooms instead and gems.

So what is your awesome toadstool gnoem birthday idea? Inquiring minds want to know

What about a toadstool memory game? You could paint up those big drawer pulls and print out pics to put underneath them. That would be fun for little kiddos. And if you made a few you could send a set home with each family.

Or you could have a toadstool hunt out in the yard. I'll have to think more on it. I bet it's going to be loads of fun!

what about a gnome under the toad stool, similar to pin a tail on a donkey.. you could just use some buters paper and paint a toad stool, make a little gnome to pin on, this may be for the older kids.... sounds like a wonderful party i would love to see some pictures of it have fun planning

or gnome-topped pencils like they have in (umm...what book was it?) The Gnome book of Crafts (maybe?)

basically you put a wire through the head bead, stick the wire through the neck hole of the shirt, and glue a strip of felt around the pencil to secure the wire (or duct tape might work too ) Then stitch the shirt and put a hat on the head (which covers the wires coming out of the bead)

You know you want to make this! I am making it Thursday probably. the party is Saturday. I won't be doing it all that fancy but I will have fun!

What about little felt sacks to collect gnome stuff in. Do a picture scavenger hunt - make a list of 4 things in pictures and ask them to find the items and put them in the bags. Make gnome hates from wool(Maya's party is a fairy party and the girls are getting silk fairy skirts, wings and a silk pouch stamped with a fairy for their fairy dust).

I'll try and think of more but we need to go to our new house so I can paint the floor of my GINORMOUS craft room

What about toadstool bean bag toss? Make a red toadstool top (maybe red paper or fabric) with a white leg and round white beanbags and then toss them onto the mushroom cap. This would suit all ages.
