Build and show - slightly crafty

For the last few years when my inlaws go on vacation in the spring I do something to their pond. The first year I put it in, the next I added a waterfall, then modified the waterfall. This year I put in a new pond and a new waterfall for them.

A few years ago my MIL found a furless baby squirrel in her driveway. The dogs scared the mother and she wouldn't come get it so my inlaws fed the dang thing every 2 hours The darn thing lived in the house for the winter (he was found in October) and when he was a bit older my FIL built a small house for him. Every morning they would look outside to see when "Buddy" woke up and then bring him in for a snack. When it was too cold he would knock on the door to come in. So, for Mother's Day I built my MIL a new squirrel house. It is fairly large at about 18 inches high and a foot deep. It has a copper roof, copper starburst entryway and the bottom has eye hooks to let them open it for cleaning. It is sitting in the crook of the apple tree.

Oh, and it has a porch so MIL can put nuts up ther for the squirrels and then can come and sun themselve. The other house had a water dish too

I love the pond and waterfall!! As soon as that shrub is out of here, you have to come and help me with mine

Yesterday, Kenna found a baby mouse, just born. The mother was scared away by our neighbor moving old railroad ties and we can't find her. So now I am feeding this little mouse every 2 hours by hand and hoping that it survives!

Make sure to rub his tummy so he pees. I raised a little mouse last year that fell out of our garage ceiling where it's nest was.

I am trying to get him to pee, but so far no luck I am going to tak ehim to the vet tomorrow I think. He ate really well tonight, so that's a good thing I bought a formula from the pet store, and it's a powder, and I have enough to last me though feeding about a dozen mice for about 6 months, lol! He is in a basket, on an organic cotton wip, covered with another wipe, covered with shredded paper towels, the basket is covered with a towel and it is sitting on the dryer, which is almost always running.

I saw this earlier and didn't have a chance to post
I love your gifts! Man, if someone came and fussied up my garden each year I'd be beside myself The squirrel house is precious, as is the (albeit nutty, lol) story about the squirrel who lives in it - VERY sweet

I didn't tell you about "Billy". His mom was hit by a car so they just HAD to raise him. When they went on vacation we had a friend of ours over for a cookout and I went out to ffed the squirrels. I though Kim would die when Billy jumped on my shoulder to get his dinner
