Dyeing Play Silks

Okay, I am interested in trying my hand at kool-aid dyeing some playsilks. Do you guys get them through Dharma Trading? If so, how do you finish the edges (I don't have a serger)? Or if not, where do you get your undyed silks from?

Thanks!
Lori

Nevermind, I see that Dharma sells the scarves in pre-made sizes <bonk>!

For those of you interested, here's the link: http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/en...v=scarves.html

I get all of mine from Dharma, all in the finished sizes. I have a serger but do not want to have to serge the edges of silk; it's awful to serge!

www.thaisilks.com is another place people get theirs.

I get mine from a co-op that buys from Dharma.

the edges are finished and I can get all different sizes...from scarves to the really big ones.

PM me if intereseted. She is running a co-op now for them. I think orders are until April 3 so you would have a while before getting them.

I have also bought 25 yards of silk from Dharma and used most of that for making silk/flannel receiving blankets so I didn't have to finish the edges. Too much of a PITA to try to roll the edges. My serger won't do it.

dyeing them is sooooo easy and fun!!!
