Duncan's Narnia set
This was his mama gift and, although shadowed by the Millenium Falcon toy, I still think he really liked it.
Here's the whole set. We had the silks, already, but I made the felt playmat for it. It's sparkly white felt on one side and light spring green on the other side for when Narnia defrosts:
Here are the children:
the witch, her gnome and Maugrim the captain of her guard (he was made by Danielle!)
Aslan (again made by Danielle):
and Mr. Tumnus, the lamp post and the wardrobe, with a couple of little fur coats tucked inside:
I actually made 4 coats but the really furry ones are SO furry and sheddy that I tossed them in the trash this morning, there was fur EVERYWHERE. I'm gonna go out and buy a bit more of some less shedding fur and remake them.
I still need to find a sled for the witch. I remembered at 8pm Christmas Eve that i had forgotten to pick one up. Silly mommy.

Dear Mom and Dad- I may parent differently than you did. This does not mean that I think you did it "wrong." However, it also does not mean I am doing it wrong.
I like your tumnus too. I've been mulling over different ways to make one (why? I dunno. Guess I don't have enough of my own stuff to keep me busy not!) and needle felting never even occurred to me! Way to go!
What a special gift!

That set is amazing! Kenna desperately wants to start reading those books, and I know she is going to want a playset too, so I can refer back here for ideas

this is the coolest thing i've ever seen. i knit some animals, including lions, for my two nieces, and the oldest one told her mama it was aslan, lol. it had never occurred to me to do a full set! this is really, really beautiful work!
My DH is in love. His older sister read the Narnia books to him when he was little and he's been enamoured ever since. I was just informed "we NEED on of those." LOL

Yeah, when I was trying to figure out how to make his "really naked body on top!" (as Duncan likes to call it), I started wrapping with floss and then realized that I wouldn't be able to get the hair on his back. I'm making another this week, so I hope it wasn't just dumb luck and this one comes out cute, too.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. We went to see the movie again last night and now Duncan has asked for a centaur, minotaur, beavers...and I offered to make him a Giant.
