2 Snails and a fairy

So how does that sound for a Book title or bad tv show, LOL.

Here is the bendy riding snails I'm sending to Selena. I'm trying to debate whether or not I want to make them bigger. But these 2 are on their way to Selena. The fairy is for Colin, LOL. It was supposed to be put in an egg but he found it on my table (dang it, I'm not going to have any egg stuffers if this keeps up).

Sorry for the blurry pictures, I took them after dark. I swear I just can't take a good picture after the sun sets, the lighting in this house is just awful.

I really need to make those. I even went out and bought wool for them. All I can think of is a giant snail now!

Just remember when you are making them that they can be top heavy so you have to figit with the shell to get them not to fall over. If they still want to fall over just smoosh them down a bit, LOL, then they will stay upright. The last snail I made, I used a piece of cereal box instead of cardstock and it seems to stay up better, so I'm going to try that with the smaller snails too.

That's really cool! They look great! Can I ask you a question? How in the world did you manage the antennae? Our snail currently lives without them because i couldn't seem to get my fingers around making them. Did you just fold the piece in half and sew up? Normally I'm okay working with teeny things but those were just beyond my reach.

Nope there was no snail craft along but I did take a picture of the pattern from the book.

As for the antennae, well they are a PITB!!! LOL. Yep I fold them over to make them, but I usually widen the pattern because the pattern piece they give you is WAY too small to fold over (especially if you reduce the pattern). I fold it over, stitch the top and side then sew it onto the body. I do the antennae last.

I'm not sure I'll get them made in time to send out so you will get them by Ostara (is it the same weekend as Easter). Do you want regular sized ones (the size that the pattern came in) small ones (they fit in plastic eggs) or bendy riders (they are big enough for one pipe cleaner sized bendy dolls can ride, actually the large ones can ride too but their feet drag the ground, LOL)? What colors are you looking for? I'd love to do some trade (we are moving soon too), if you have any extra egg stuffer kinda stuff, I'd love it, but if not, I'll wait till April.

Let me know. I'm thinking of going to the store for more felt in the next couple of days so if I don't have the color, I can probably get it.
