Where can I buy blank, undecorated journals?

I'm planning to embellish some journal covers, but am not sure where to look. Would Michael's have these? I'm looking for spiral bound with a plain natural (like kraft paper-looking) cover.

try looking for sketchbooks rather than journals if you want blank internal pages (versus lined internal pages).

i pick one up at barnes and noble once - in with their journals, but there have to be cheaper places.

I've just realized this post is mostly useless. i think I've seen them in craft store - you could always call first to ask (says the non-phone phobic).

Did they have Spiral bound at B&N?

I tried Michaels' today and they had memory books but all short and wide or real big. Wah!

Y'know, I don't remember if it was spiral bound or regular. I wonder if an actual art supply house might have what you're looking for - because a sketchbook would work fine, and sometimes artist pads/sketchbooks have spiral covers so you can more easily rip the covers out.

The one I picked up (for a friend who simply wanted a "plain cover, unlined journal") I think had a black cover.
