Help me with an idea....

The kids and I have had several awesome hikes where we've seen tadpole egg cases and new tadpoles. A few days ago we found egg strands that were over 5 feet long!!

Both of my boys are so into this, they play tadpoles at home and are reading our tadpole book everyday. I'd love to make something for the nature table that reflects this interest and the hikes.

I need some ideas on how to do it. I think felting would make them way too big...not sure I can felt well on such a small scale...

Maybe clay?

I don't know, any ideas welcome!

Jenn

Fimo clay would be really easy or you could let them cut out just a simple tadpole shape from felt and glue on some eyes. Put them on a blue or brown silk with some pebbles and rocks and you have a streambed.

Hi Jenn~
Not really any good ideas...other than making a playsilk long and narrow and flowy...just like the egg cases.

Otherwise, I just wanted to say how cool it is that you guys are seeing those! Spencer would go crazy!

frog beads? there is a seller on ebay um... lalaroro? maybe? who has really neat ceramic beads... you could put them inside tule for the egg sac... it comes in lots of colors and is pretty cheap.

lol, I dunno... just a thought

I am all for felt everything

thanks for the ideas guys. We've been playing around with clay and i think we're almost done and ready to bake lol. I'm happier with the eggs and tadpoles than I am the actual frog but there comes a time where you just bake and go with it lol. My children are 2 and 4 and THEY think it's cool so I need to let my perfectionist tendancies go and get these on the nature table already
