raw mohair help!

I was looking at purchasing a bag of raw mohair (hasn't been cleaned and has been sitting stored for a while so it is pretty nasty stuff). I am new to everything and was wondering if anyone knows how to clean, comb, get it into spinning ready quality. I could use all the help i can get to get it to the spinning wheel. Thanks.

the most important thing is to not change temperature too quickly, you can wash it with hot water but get it hot slowly.
I wash wool in my machine using just the spin cycle. I put the wool in and some good liquid soap. And let the machine fill up and then turn it off and let it soak. then just spin out. It might take several run throughs( i just got rid of a bunch that was going to be too much trouble)
spin it out and let it air dry, I put mine in thin flat baskets in the sun.
Do you have wool cards? if not dog brushes work too. I have found some at dollar stores.
good luck, let me know if you have more questions
