buyers remorse... tell me I did good!

I just ordered a doll kit from "Joy's Waldorf Dolls". I want to make it for my son for the winter holiday. The thing is... I bought the wig because I want the doll to have long boy hair like DS and was afraid I would not be able to pull it off. Joy is going to custom make a wig. I also bought the pre-made head. Tomorrow, I am mailing off a check for 66.00! EEK. I probably could have bought a custom doll for that price. Made by a professional.
I am trying to tell myself that made by momma is better than custom by a professional. I am trying to tell myself that I CAN DO THIS and I have plenty of time to figure it out, ask questions and get help. I am telling myself that by buying the custom wig and head, I have left the hard part to the pro's and can still think of this is my own creation for my sweet child. I did a good thing. It is money well spent and the doll will be loved.
I did good right? I did a good thing???
Ack!
I want all the goodies under the tree and in the stocking to be hand-crafted. Sort of like Santa's elf's were working all year to bring toys and clothes that you can't get at Wal-mart. The only exception is going to be a Fire-truck that lights up and has a siren. Can't wait to have that in my house

there, there, there now.....you're just fine.

Emotion and sentiment of a mama made gift aside.....

Remember, you are also paying for the instructions from the kit. Skill, that's a life time investment.

I bought a kit almost 8 years ago for 50 dollars, no wig and I couldn't crochet. Feeling better yet? LOL.

Wool, hand dyed skin, crocheted caps....it's all pricey. Welcome to waldorf.

:)

I felt a true sense of accomplishment when I made my ds his first waldorf doll. I think your uncertainty will fade as you start making the doll, it's a real labor of love. Enjoy!

A completed doll could easily cost over $100 and worth it too!
Your son will love his doll.

I think you are a super mama forwanting the BEST for your guy

I mean, ya know your limitations so you got the wig made into boy long hair SMART GIRL!

And you wanted it to be crafted with love so you got the kit!

And you will ALWAYS have the pattern, so you can make more

You did great

You did fine!

All those materials are worth the $ and the effort you put into it is priceless!

Those wigs are no picnic to make, so definately worth the $!!
