made a tiny toadstool guy

Yesterday the kids were play dough'ing and wanted me to play too. But there wasn't enough playdough to go around so I got out the little bit of sculpey clay we had.

Yes, I was inspired by Emily's sculpey toadstools from the swap and the thought of a patch of ground cover flowers that Chris brought up.

The toadstool guy is only about 1 1/2" tall...the snail isn't much over 1/4".

And the kids got mad that they couldn't bake their kool-aid playdough LOL!

very cool!
any idea if baked sculpey would hold up to being a garden sculpture? can it withstand the moisture?

I used green sculpey. I highlighted and added some shadow to it with acrylic paint. I watered it down so it was glaze-ish. Then I put a satin varnish on the whole thing.

I don't know how it would hold up to moisture/being outside. I'd try it with something easy...like garden markers or something...and do an experiment.
