questions questions questions

Ya'll are going to get sick of me asking questions... hehehe

1. Where do you get your wool doll hair?

2. Where do you get your wool roving?

3. Where do you get your wool felt?

4. Do you use 100%, 80/20 or 60/40 wool felt?

I'll think of more later, LOL.

1. I get doll hair at http://www.weirdolls.com (super soft and shiny...I order enough to get the 10% bulk discount if I can) or at a local foo-foo yarn shop.

2. MY favorite roving in from http://www.mielkesfarm.com Ebay is also a good place.

3. I get wool felt at http://www.novanatural.com , http://www.achildsdream.com , or a mercurius co-op if I can catch one happens to be going on when I have spending money. Wool blend felt at JoAnn and http://www.colonialcrafts.com (same brand but colonial crafts has all the colors) http://www.thesilverpenny.com carries wool blend felt with a slightly higher amt of wool.

4. Honestly I prefer the wool/rayon blend felt that JoAnn carries. Most all the wool felt I've used is really tough to get a needle through. And my experience with the wool blend is that is holds up wonderfully over time. My JoAnn has different ratios of wool:rayon for different colors...white is higher than 80/20 sometimes...they aren't really consistent.

wool roving

The 'bag of candy' from www.mielkesfarm.com is a fun way to get started with wool roving. Every color of the rainbow plus some lol.
