Breastfeeding your toddlerSTILL GOT MILK? Are you the one people ask 'are you STILL breastfeeding??' are mee nums still a daily (or even weekly) event? this place holds lots of nips (i mean tips) for you.
DS is almost 3...still nursing...mostly for naps and going to sleep.. Sometimes just because. Whatever. It doesn't bother me, so why on why do I have to listen to every idiot who thinks its their business.
I'm soooo sick of hearing, "when's ge going to stop that" or "he should have been done that by now" My grandmother, heck, just whoever.
Ugh.
Maybe I'll nurse him until he's 20! (nahhhhhh---just kidding )
My almost 3yo is still nursing. mostly in the morning and at nightbefore bed. I was super grateful last week when she had areally high fevers that she had breastmilk..yk?
Noone mentions it to me, but I live like a hermit And if they did, I would ask them about their diet...exercise routine, sex life, if they called their father on fathers day...
yk?

My almost 3 year old still nurses too. And he YELLS for it every chance he can whenever we are in public. He has asthma and I am always so grateful he is still nursing when he gets sick.
We are in an AP playgroup, so that is happy for everyone, but my neighborhood playgroup...well...they are a bit shocked, but I am the organizer and am nice to them, so they won't ever say anything outright, but I am definitely an alien! Har. Other than that we live a bit hermit'ish too - but my mom, now that is another story!
You go mamas.

Noah nurses a lot still at 2.5. That might not seem very old to you three, but around here we're enigma! Most of my friends nurse between 6-12 months--but what's most surprising is that ALL my friends nursed their babies at all! Indiana is not the most nursing progressive city.
I've learned over the past 6 months not to mention it too much to other people. Noah doesn't ask to nurse in public very often. His talking is still a bit mushy sounding, so even when he does ask (mrrr, mama?), it's not a big deal--no one understand except me, dh, his brother and sister. I don't nurse him in pulic anymore, though, but mostly b/c he's usually so busy while we're out and about that he doesn't ask.

Man I wish I had the quick thinking abilities and guts to come back with some of that stuff, LOL!!!! I always go off and think about all the things I could have said, LOL, but it doesn't do me much good then!LOL
I don't mention it much either. It's funny though, I've been surprised by some people when I mention it and they then tell me they nursed until 3 or more. These are people I just didn't peg for nursing much at all!! LOL!! It's nice to hear those stories.
MOSTLY it is family. I My grandmother's and I don't want to be rude to them, I just tell them I'll be done when I'm done and change the subject. Of course the one won't leave me alone about his hair....it hasn't been cut yet. I just bite my lip and go on. They won't be here that much longer (late 80's ) and I just want to enjoy them
You know, last winter, my DS had a few colds and that type thing but never really got sick. I really believe the nursing helped. The others had some bugs. My oldest dd had a nasty bug and so did I that seemed to last for weeks. I was astonished he didn't get it as close as we were...nursing, in our bed, etc.
I don't mind still nursing. I would however like it if he didn't *need* it to go to sleep most of the time. and would also like if he would sleep through the night.
I don't mention it much or at all either. And, at almost 3, my youngest is WAY too wiggly and weirdly particular to do it anywhere but in my home. But, of course, he gets nervous around big groups of people (like the neighborhood playgroup), so always climbs on my lap, grabs my shirt, and starts crying BUH BUH while trying to lie down on me...
