Unhappy My baby weaned & it's all MY fault!-Edit w update

Well, with mixed emotions I went on a 1 week vacation with DH, without the kids. Kids got back today & kelby was upset & confused & hasn't nursed once. She's back to herself (after couple hours) except for the nursing.

Have a call into LLL leader. Tried rockimg & lying. Maybe tonight or AM...

UPDATE:
Thanks mama's sorry so long to update but last time I checked - no replies

anyway, she's 1 yr-she was really really confused on returning to our house. I had pumped the whole time & after the 1st day wasn't feeling the engorgement anymore

that night after me offering in all positions for hours, she got sleepy & nursed. Been nursing like normal ever since. I think my body got overloaded though b/c now I have a fever & throat infection. Mick has NG again today & I had to send kids back to inlaws for the day as I just couldn't handle it today. Hope Kelby doesn't get upset/confused again.

vacation was good - DH got a few days off to spend with me. I was in military cabins surrounded by families though - didn't help me miss mine less. Glad that I did it b/c coming back was instantly into the old chaos like I hadn't even been gone.

I'm sorry, Mama. Maybe once she gets tired...have you taken a warm bath together? Let us know what happens.

that's hard. That happened with Maribeth when we moved - I was around - just other people were watching her more while I was packing, dh was giving her bottles/sippies and then she wouldn't go back to nursing.

Oh. man, now I am scared. I am having my MIL watch esther for a week when I have surgery in June. I have been so worried she would stop nursing. Let me know how it turns out.

I just got back from a week long confrence. Dh gave F (10m) bottles of EBM while I was gone and I pumped. By about day 5 of my trip I was only getting 2oz for the whole day from both breasts I was really concerned. F didn't seem to want to nurse right away like I expected him to but it wasn't long before he wanted to be comforted and rembered the boobie juice. It took a couple days to get my supply up. It's been a week and I'm not feeling major let down, but he seems happy at the breast....

I hope it works out for you!

Gee, that is how I weaned 2 of my kiddos, but I did it on purpose. I don't know how old your baby is, but hopefully will soon start up nursing again. I think it also really depends on the baby. I had one that I tried it with, and as soon as he saw me, he was in my lap, lifting up my shirt, so for him, it didn't work. Mine were all over 2yrs old, when I did this, and one was very close to 3yrs, and I think that probably makes a big difference too.

The suggestions here are good. A warm bath with a sleepy baby can help. If you co-sleep, sleep shirtless and she may automatically latch on during the night. Keep offering the breast. But, keep it light.
