Restless Nurser

At just 3 weeks old, Josie has been doing such a great job with nursing. I feel very pround of us. However, she has been having one feeding each evening where she struggles and squirms the entire time. What's going on? She'll act hungry and she does end up nursing quite a bit - but the whole time she's fussing, pulling back on my nipple, squirming her legs, arching her back, and pushing at my breast with her hands. It hurts!

I've been pulling her off when she gets really fussy and attempting to calm her down before having her latch on again. Sometimes she's content to suck on a finger instead during these times, but often she does seem to really be hungry - so I can't figure out why she seems to be fighting against me.

Once we get through a rough session like this and she sleeps for a while, then she goes back to her normal, calm nursing style. Anyone have any pointers?

my baby does this sometimes too... actually she does it a lot. but she will latch and unlatch latch and unlatch. I witll either just go on surfing (I nak a lot) and let her figure it out, or I will get up and walk. soemthing about me moving that makes her think she doesnt need to.
