anti-anxiety/dep meds while bfing 15-mo-old?

Hi, all - I'm new to this site here, and it looks so helpful! I have 2 sons and a hubby. Dh and I have been to couples counseling for a while, and I'm really trying to deal with anxiety/depression issues that, to make things more interesting, stem from my familial background.

I wonder if anybody knows of anybody or has experience with anti-anxiety/dep meds while breastfeeding? The literature out there talks about not using them generally while bfing infants. But my second son is 15 months and eats a lot of other food. He's probably getting about 20-30% of his nutrition from bf-ing.

My doc gave me samples of Lexapro for when I resolve this. Any advice?

Thanks, mamas!

Breast milk with some hint of antipressants is better than formula. Just make sure your doctor knows your breastfeeding, and that the potential risks are worth the benifit of having a happy healthy mom.
