dentist I feel so ready to wean her!

Well, not emotionally ready but physically, I'm ready to freak out on her. I'm SO tired of her scratching me, slapping me and screeching at me when she wants to nurse (for the 3rd time in an hour) and I don't hop to it. I am angry that I take 2/3 of my time nursing a toddler who kicks me the whole time she's nursing. I am sick of her hand being down my shirt playing with my nipples half the day. I'm totally over her pulling and ripping at the skin on my breat and biting my nipple because it's amusing to her. Ugh. I'm just having a difficult time right now at 16.5 months. She STILL has almost no interest in solids. I don't know how much longer I can hang in there!!!! Why won't she just let up a little and EAT SOME FOOD???? How do you deal with bad manners at mama's table?

when journey tries to nibble, pinch, or tug w/ her gums on me, i just look at her very seriously & tell her that hurts & not to hurt me. i hope she understands. if she continues i just put it away.

That used to work. Unfortunately we are passed that now. She's gone full throttle into toddler mode. We're into throwing huge tantrums all day and doing everything without help. I don't remember my other two being this feisty so young. *whew*!

Wow, I could have posted that exact same thing, only my nursling is nearly 3. She pitches a fit if I don't give her "nonnies" as soon as she asks...which is only a couple times per day, but it's usually right when I sit down to eat lunch *finally*, or when I'm on my way into the bathroom.

I am actually going to give her a gentle push towards weaning and see how it goes... I don't think I can put up with much more of this.

When Kaya did things like that as a wee one, I just unlatched her, set her down, looked right into her eyes and told her "You're hurting Mama. Please stop it." Then I'd let her nurse again. If she did it again (pinch, kick, bite) then I would set her down, put my boob away and tell her "Mama's done nursing until you're going to nurse nice."

Sure, we had a few melt-downs, but she got over it and stopped.

Stephanie is very much like this. At the Early Intervention appt on Friday the two evaluators told me she is the typical strong willed child. I have to agree! I'm glad I have a lot of patience, but sometimes I go into the batheroom and mutter, "Shut up!" Then I come out all smiles
