YES!

Every adoptive mom I've known IRL has breastfed at least part way. They each had different situations, ages of themselves and their children & wether or not they had nursed before and all were able to do it. It can be done!

That's a fabulous link BTW!

Absolutely and good for her to consider it! Tell her to contact LLL and a lactation consultant, rent a good pump and visit that link above often!

Let us know how she does!

I'm pretty sure that Kerri here on the boards has/does. She's offered some other mamas some great breastfeeding information as well.

Yes. I went to that site and I was able to get a tiny bit of milk for M. Mostly she just comfort nursed as I didn't start preparing until after she came home. It was great for bonding.

If she's adopting in May, she'll do good to get a start on it now. GL to her and I hope her adoption goes very smoothly!

She might also like to join the Adoptive Breastfeeding yahoo group:

yes it is. I would recommend one of the sites listed. A good hospital grade pump, some herbs and a sns and it is very possible from what I have heard.
Wishing her luck!

Absolutely! She can contact me, and post at the fourfriends site listed. I've done it with all my kids and am a LLL leader and doula, so can offer info from both sides if she's interested. She has lots of options.
