We finally figured out why Melissa is not a fan of nursing...
My baby Melissa is 7 months old, and does not like to nurse (hard to tell from the picture I know LOL). She will only do so laying down beside me. If I try to do the cuddle position she flails and arches her back.
Like any good mama, I thought it was my fault.
When she was little(er) I had overproduction issues and thought that was the only reason. Well, she breathes like Darth Vader and has a deep 'voice' when she babbles. Lots of coughing, vomitting, etc.
The doctor listened to her and told us she has congenital laryngomalacia. Floppiness of the Larnyx. Poor thing, she couldn't get food down the right way. Most of us have a strong muscle there, hers is weak. It closes easily.
I'm glad she is still in with us, sleep apnea can occour so of course my mind flies off to the worst case scenario. When she's sick (like now) it's much more pronounced. I had a lung removed as an infant so I'm pretty stressed about my kid's and their breathing problems.
We are still trying to figure out Mary's intestine problems -- the bacteria level is good but now it's all distended and she's afraid to poop, so she goes once a week when we make her.
Thanks mamas for letting me have a place to let it out.

I am sorry. That must be so hard.
For your daughter's intestines, can she have wheat? If you mill your own wheat to bake bread it has been proven by people I know personally to relieve some stomach problems, and cures constipation. http://www.breadbeckers.com/ This is where I am starting to order from.

That looks like really neat bread! I just went to the market but I'm adding the ingredients to my shopping list. Can't hurt!
She is on wheat, we went through food alergies and fiber, water etc. intake, and nothing seems to make a difference including super high fiber. She won't go (or can't) for over a week, then when she does go it comes out like mush not constipation. She did have problems with failure to thrive which now seems to be overcome, and imbalance of bacteria in her tummy which is also resolved. Just this poopy problem.

Thanks everyone, it does mean so much to me!
I can send you a tape about the company. It is awesome to listen to and will give you an idea about her intestinal troubles. Just pm me if you want it and I will send it to you.
I am waiting on edge for my order to come with the co-op because it is such healthy and yummy bread!
You know, this all sets me to wonder...do any of us have 'normal' kids??? I had the lung thing, all of my girls have been seen by drs their whole lives for one problem or another....
Ah well... at least I overproduced and she under eats so somehow it all worked out right...
