Still pumping!
I have exclusively pumped breastmilk for 17 months.
I want to start pumping 2x a day for ds & supplement him the rest of the time with this goat milk formula I got from New Zealand. He has had it a few times & I put it in his cereal.
But, I feel like such a loser giving him formula!
Any support?
I think you are doing a TERRIFIC job! Pumping for me was difficult for 2 of my children (easier with the last), so I truly admire anyone who can exclusively pump for such a length of time.

You rock!!! What a great job mama! I would not sweat the small amount of formula if it works for you...look how much of the good stuff you're giving! There's a yahoo group/wedsite or something for exclusively pumping moms...have you checked them out? I can't remember the URL. I bet they'd be helpful too.
He's 17 months old! He doesn't need formula so why give it to him!? You've far surpassed all but one EP'ing mom I know (she's still pumping because that's all he tolerates). If you feel the need to cut back then do so. I know how you feel, I pumped for 18 months but I was also BF at night but I was donating the milk to a friends baby and I felt so guilty about stopping but I just couldn't take it anymore.
Hi,
The formula I give him is Nanny Goat Milk formula from New Zealand. On the can it says for infants and is also suitable for children and adults.
I just assumed that he needed formula because both of my friend Erika's children were on formula until they were 2.
I've got loads of it! I am just going to use it all up. I use it in cereal everyday too. Right now he only gets about 4oz of formula a day. I am pumping 3x a day.
I like to pump 2x a day but, I get too engorged.
Thanks for your kind words....

I think you are doing a great job!!! Good luck cutting back.. it can be hard, but often your sanity is worth it. Breastfeeding, and feeding your littleun is supposed to be a good experience... and, it is just my opinion, but I think that good experience needs to be maintained, for YOUR health. Do anything you need for that bond and health to grow. You have my support mama! I think you have done a faulous job! (I don't think I could do that )
Love Val
