Book suggestions for Boys

My 8yo DS is exploding with his reading. He's reading full books of the Magic Treehouse in a day (or more). We went to the library today and I couldn't find many boy books. Lots of girl books, especially series books.

Can I get some suggestions? Would Hardy Boys be too advanced for him? I don't think I've ever read Hardy Boys. (but he's having me read the Magic Treehouse books, so we can 'discuss' them)

THANKS in advance for any advice!

My 9 and 6 yo dds love Hardy Boys books. The My Father's Dragon books (rUTH sTILES gANNET) WILL BE QUICK BUT FUN READS. (sorry - capslock)

The Narnia books would prolly be a hit. And maybe if you start it as a read aloud, the Swallows and Amazons books (Arthur Ransome) Mykids really like those but they can start slow, so we do them as read alouds at night. They have had many hours of fun play sparked by those books.

I bet there are some Matt Christopher books he'd like if he likes sports at all.

Dick King-Smith has written a lot of books appealing to both boys and girls. Also look at Roald Dahl's (The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me, The Magic Finger, The Twits, etc etc)

Have fun.

Harry Potter. I know you are LOTR fan so probably not opposed to HP!
How about Charlotte's Web? James and the Giant Peach? My middle dd is 7 loves all these. She also likes Ramona books but those are girly.
