Book sugestion for y'all
I happened upon a book at the library the other day, and am loving it. It is called Sharmila's Book by Bharti Kirchner. It is about an American-born Indian woman who accepts an arranged marriage. She moves to India, has to adapt to the culture there (the dress, the castes which are still an issue for many, etc), deals with her future husband & his past.
I was walking by the cart of books to be re-shelved & this one caught my eye. I am so glad it did. But I do need to find a glossary of hindi terms about dress. She keeps using the terms for this suit or that part of a sari, and I am clueless.
She wrote another book named Shiva Dancing; I am going to get that one next.
