Book done, what now?

Have you ever felt like when you finish a book, that you are let down? i finished reading "The Mists of Avalon" last year and was completely let down afterwards. I was so engrossed in the story and then it ended. And there was no follow up.

And now, I've been reading Harry Potter #5 for 5 days straight, and I finished it this afternoon. And now, I almost feel let down again. I mean.....what happens next? The story was so intriguing and well written; I really felt transported into the story.

I've re-read The Red Tent 3-4 times, but it's a shorter book that I can read quickly.

How do you feel at the end of a great book? Do you want to re-read it? Do you want to savor it? Do you wish the story could just continue?

(ps: on the other hand, I keep thinking that JK Rowling really has made her market! We are all biting at the bit to read her latest book, and now can't wait for the next one! what a great market!)

It depends.

With Mists it was good enough that I picked it up again a few years later and reread it.

With Red Tent it was just a time for reflection.

With HP5 it has been reread 4 now reread 5 (I rarely reread so soon after the first read) and then I'll go back to fan fict. There is some great HP stuff up and I'm looking forward to the new ones that will spin out of this book. I'm sure they are already in progress.
