Slowing down is a bit weird!

I'm new to this forum but not ot Amity. I just noticed it existed. Hurrah! Not easy to find a working mom AP group. My local group has turned their backs on me because I now work. They are very judgemental. It's sad.

Anyway, work has slowed due to teacher's being out for summer. I work for a text book co. It's a bit of an adjustment being home so much. It has been nice to catch up on about 6 months of cleaning. Boy, a house can get messy when ignored long enough. I'm just not used to not being busy! During the school year it just never stops. Even when I'm at home. Calls and emails and now nothing.

How do you slow down? I find myself over exercising and obsessively cleaning to make up for not being busy with work. What's wrong with me?

Yea, I'm more like Storm. Now that I'm off for the summer, nothing is getting done! I've got to clean today.

Enjoy your down-time. The school year will be back soon enough!

I wish things slowed for me in the summer lol. Seasons mean nothing for people applying for disability benefits - Social Security Disability. Its just another day. no slowing down. Still here from 7-3:30 Mon-Friday.
The only thing thats different in my life now is that at 4pm we're in the pool while daddy grills the meat for dinner lol

enjoy the down time. I'm jealous of it!

barb this is the first seasonal kind of job I have ever had. It's weird. I've been doing it for two years now and it makes time FLY for me. Work used to be day after day the same the same. But now I work towards several events each fall through spring with a little break after each. Dates are a constant marker I'm focused on every day at work.

It's kind of sad to me how fast it makes things seem.

Maybe, I would feel calmer if I was being paid for my time off. Of course, everything in my house is falling apart and I have no extra money. I think keeping busy keeps the stress at bay a bit.

I know I need to spend quality time with my kids, but they're driving me a bit bonkers. Feeling a nice amount of guilt for that. I love them dearly, but it's an adjustment all the same.
