New

I will be starting work on the 23rd and am new here. Just wanted to say hi and get some support from other working moms. I know this is going to be really hard for me. Starting off, any advice from other working moms that I must know before going off to work?

Hey there.
I went back to work last year after being a sahm for 7 years. It was a tough transition but we're doing well now
What really helped me was pre-cooking meat for meals on the weekends, setting up lunches and clothing the night before ; or even setting up outfits on the weekend so I'd have choices during the week.

Good luck to you. What'll you be doing?

OH yeah, Definintely prepare the night before as much as possible. I take the kids to work with me (I work at their school) and I actually dress them in their clothes to make the mornings easier. I try to plan outfits, sack lunches, lists, other things I need to bring, fill water bottles, stock the car, etc. etc. etc.

I put together outfits for at least the entire week when I do laundry, so that I just grab and go. I never have to sit there and try on clothes and figure out what to wear. Meals is a good idea too, but I tend to do a lot of frozen foods to make up for my lack of planning and cooking.

Other than that I just find that I have to give the kids extra attention. Even though I see them at school during the day they still miss me extra and need the extra.

Good luck mama. Hope to see you around lots

Welcome!

Yes!
Get as much ready the night before as you can.
Clothes, lunches, homework...

A plus- I have found that by working outside the home,
by house is much cleaner because I am not at home
during the day.

You can do it!

You can freeze a whole loaf of PB&J sandwiches and just grab and go. They thaw by lunch time. Also during school my kids will take dry ceral in a bowl w lid and buy milk for lunch.

Sorry I have not been back ladies, I have been sooo busy trying to work. My daughter is only 3 months old at this point, so it's been really hard. I do most of the things you ladies mentioned as a matter of fact. I sometimes dress her the night before, I get all our outfits including my jewelry and purses, and shoes, etc all ready before the week starts, I don't even have time the night before! lol! Thanks for all your replies! Reassuring that I'm on the right path.
