Ok, so I went back to work a while ago and have been doing ER in downtown New Orleans on weekend nights. As you can imagine, it's incredibly busy, but I tend to enjoy the blood and guts and so have enjoyed (nearly) every day. I work every Saturday night 7p-7a. The pay is great.
Across town, in Uptown, there is a nice sleepy little hospital that has a phenomenal birthing center. They have a sweet little NICU and a booming lactation center. If you looked @ my resume, you'd see NICU and IBCLC all over it.

So I've had my eye over there for a year or more, waiting on something to open up. (In either area).
So last Thursday I get a tip that there is a flex position in NICU. I call the manager and she says to come over to chat. I do. She sees I'm an IBCLC and says "you know they need a flex LC to cover their weekends too" and I'm all

because now I'm realizing I will have to CHOOSE which position to take.

She calls over to the lactation center and says "I have someone here you may want to talk to" and I go chat w/ them as well. I walk out of there knowing I want to work in this hospital but how on earth do I choose? Both of these positions are my passion. Sigh....
So today the nurse recruiter calls me and says "The 2 departments are fighting over you. What do YOU want?" And I said, "In my ideal world, I'd work flex time
between the 2. I'd do both. Only on weekends and all on day shift." She says, "let me talk to the higher ups and see what we can do for you. I probably won't get an answer until Monday. But know that we want you. We will do whatever we can to get you over here."
I told DH this would be too good to be true. Half NICU, half lactation consulting, and for a whole freaking lot more money!
So if you have a prayer to spare, I'd appreciate it!!
