Medicare saga cont
so, brief review:
1. I've been trying to get Medicare (as a provider) for the past YEAR. Have had to go through three rounds of applications (which is typical - I know many competent others that have had to do this as well) before every single i was dotted exactly in the manner they like.
2. called them last week to find out where my application was and if there was anything else I needed to do. Guy told me that they were about to go to lunch and that he'd call back after lunch, then hung up on me.
3. did he ever call back? HA! of course not.
4. I called this morning. Was on hold for 25 minutes. (they need a longer loop in their hold music.)
5. STATUS: it has been screened and reviewed and is just waiting for my application date to be uploaded and given a number. WHICH MEANS I HAVE FINISHED MY END!!!!!!!!!!
Okay the cynical part of me is saying, "don't celebrate just yet, it isn't done until you have that number."
I did ask how long it would take and she said she did not know. I asked if it would take longer than three months and she said no. So, I'm now hoping to get the number before Dec 31, 2007. Which means that I'll only lose out on about $1K worth of billing! (it ages out after a year)
