Wow - what a work week!

I've mentioned before that my best friend and I trade childcare so that I get to work 20 hours/week. I've really been struggling with feeling like a professional and feeling competent and productive at work because the work I've been doing, though I'm very grateful for it, has been boring, tedious, and I just haven't had the creativity for it.

So - I've actually been praying that new opportunities will develop, and that I'll begin to get to use the skills that I'm really wanting to develop.

Well - *coincidentally,* 3 opportunities came together this week! And it just so happened to be a week that my friend and I changed up our schedule so that I worked 4 full days.

We had an invitation to respond to an RFP to basically take on the responsibilities of a planning department for 3 small towns near us. My boss asked me to take care of our response. And then, right after we turned that one in, we found out about a second RFP for an even more exciting project. THe only thing - it was due THIS Friday! And THEN - when another business contact heard that we were interested in such things, he offered us the job of future land-use planning for another nearby small town!

So I worked 4 10+ hour days this week, and was able to respond to 2 RFPs. It was a HUGE boost to my confidence and I got to use my writing skills in a big way - that's one I'm wanting to develop! SO although it was a uniquely challenging and uniquely exhausting week, it is just so exciting wondering what might come out of these RFPs. I feel like so much more is opening up to me in my career!

(Thanks for "listening "to me gush)

That's great! It's always nice when you can show what you're capable of.
