My boss is having me work a 1/2 day - okay, so I'm my boss and I'd rather work a full day, but dh's company is not off either so we are splitting the day (child care is off).
This comes up every holiday - I don't make money if I don't work. DH's job is very demanding and busy. We have to split the holidays.
Once both kiddos are in school full time, I'll work more days and it will be much easier to take a day off. Right now, if I take a whole day off, I lose 50% of that week's income. When they are both in school and I work 5 days, one day is only 20% of my week's income.

I am on contract so I don't get paid for the day off either. It stinks, especially since I had to take two unexspected days off last week. My dh is off with ds for the rest of the week since it is winter break here-I am lucky dh has the time to take.
Nope not off today....
First, cuz I'm in Canada...lol, not a holiday here.
Second, even if it was a holiday, I wouldnt get it off. My work (bingo hall)is busier on holidays than regular days.
