I'm starting to feel very burnt out here. Been working 7 days a week. Any time that I have a few extra hours home and DS is either at school or with his grandma/father I end up spending in bed....it feels like such a waste.
I cant wait for my co-worker to get back from vacation!

Oh, Emily, 7 days a week is very very hard! Hopefully you'll get some time OFF when your co-worker comes back.
Barb, sounds like things are starting to settle into place - I knew it would! Sounds like you are doing well. Hard, but well.
As for me, I'm flying to CA this coming week for a very intensive workshop/training on a new treatment modality (neurotherapy) that is proving to be very successful and keeps my colleage busy busy busy. So, hopefully in a few months I'll be bringing in a few more bucks. Otherwise, my biz is going well. I'm approaching the 9 month mark of being in business and am still able to pay myself, my rent, and my taxes.
I've had a couple, unsolicited on my part, full-time offers this year but they were for districts I would not like to work for/at.
Well, the school I teach at has a long-time first grade teacher who approached me this last week and asked what I was certified/endorsed in. I told her and she asked me if I wanted to go full-time. I told her that, yes, eventually that was my goal. (I have thought in a few years)
Well, she wants me to come talk to her because she said she will be the first to retire. (the K, 1st, and 5th grade teachers are all at retirement age) I will go talk with her this coming week.
I suspect she is retiring after this school year. First grade would be one of the grades I'd love to snag. This is a school where openings hardly ever come open.
However, I LOVE my position there as a part-time pre-K teacher. But, I also know that openings are not often there. Teachers usually get hired and stay until retirement. It is a honor to be approached like that......and I want to go full-time, but I'm not sure if I want to go this soon. (next year)
I'm going to talk to her and get details.
I'm praying about this.....
Would I not like full-time teaching? Maybe this timing is what is meant to be for my life path?
Augh. I'm really conflicted. Large family here at home.....but I love teaching and would love to get into a full-time lower elementary job and I love teaching at that school part-time.......
My salary would (naturally) double.....

Michelle, that seems pretty serendipidous.
As for me, Valentine's Day is over, whew! One of the biggest nights of the year and we were all working OT trying to get ready. I've had a very rough month so far, due to this and the fact that dd and dh were both sick.
I think its finally calmed down. Today is my first day off in a couple weeks that I get to relax a little.
My life is too much about work lately, and I can't wait to drop down to part-time when its possible. Hopefully this summer.
Oh, but our restaurant was featured in Cosmo magazine, and we're getting a lot of press... so that's good I guess! I still like where I'm at.

I got a nice raise after new years and was told I would be invited back for next season, very good news basically means I am there for as long I want to be. I asked for a few hours on my weeks off and they have been finding work for me and that is nice, since my schedule ends up being about 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off.
our season ends in may and I will need to find a summer job from then until early october, the summer off is the only problem with this job, otherwise it is everything I have ever wanted and more

I've done 3 new interviews with different doula clilents this week and was chosen by all of them- that puts me at just about a full calender through the summer. Been keeping up with prenatal meetings with the clients I have delivering soon.
For Pampered Chef I did my last live show for February and now need to close up that show to submit as well as other catalog shows I have open and running.
My desk and office is under a layer of papers- need to make time to clear out and make it more workable. Since the 2006 calender year is done there is a lot of Pampered Chef paperwork I can pitch. I also need to figure out a filing system for all my past doula client paperwork. As soon as the big retreat I'm hosting in march is over then I am going to focus 2 nights a week to go to a local library or coffee shop with my laptop and get my paperwork done for my DONA certification.
