Hey, any mamas here that can help me out? I am planning to send DS to preschool this fall but we no longer vax and claim a religious exemption. I used to have a form on my old computer that laid out our position carefully, etc., stating that it is against our religious beliefs to vaccinate our children, which actions introduce the various agents directly into their body in ways often differing from the natural routes of infection. Anyway -- I lost the info from my old computer and I am in a pinch (ds has to be pre-registered today already) so... does anyone here claim a religious exemption from vaccination, and if so, do you have any forms or comments written up in a coherent manner, that you would be willing to share with me?
TIA!
Camille

Such great links Stacy!!! thanks!!!!!
I just wrote up a letter on some paper and it was OK with the preschool. I based mine on a religious exemption too.
I need to re-visit this issue now that we are moving to Wyoming and I have no clue what their exemptions and laws are like.
Isn't it a headache????
Hugs,
Michelle

Thank you, Stacy, those are excellent links!
I think I may have to go to the :p health nurse and get an approved exemption. They always give attitude, but it's legal in our state to have a religious -- yk I heard that in Iowa, you cannot get a religious exemption unless your religious affiliation is with one that holds it as a stand of the church not to vax  but I don't know if it's true. I have to look into it if we ever decide to move back there. But for now, this info will help a lot!

In Florida they insisted on Church letterhead-but that was bogus. Anyways i concocted something and gave it to them.
Now in a new state, they took the freedom to NOT VAX away and just gave it back a couple months ago.
Every state is different. You may need to make up some letterhead or something. Just check it out.

No, that is unconstitutional. They cannot ask you your religious affiliation. Religious exemptions are for your own personal beliefs. We have a vaccine information group here and I do the website so I've seen lots of info on this.
