Ok mamas, I need some opinions and thought I'd put them all in one. What is your favorite:

1. natural soap (I just got in some Tami's soaps that I can't wait to try, a peppermint/ tea tree, shampoo bar, & a bay rum for dh, but I'd love to try others!)

2. Natural bug repellent (especially for babies/kids, and has anyone tried Burts Bees repellent?)

3. sunscreen for babies/kids

4. mama pads

5. Detergent for diapers

6. Also, what do you think of shampoo bars? Do they really work? (that way, when I try mine I'd like to know what to expect)

Thanks!

I get my peppermint/tea tree soap from www.chumbas.com I'm in love w/ it, and Edie has other kinds too, but I haven't tried them. I'm getting her baby bug off next time I order a dipe from her. I have some sunscreen for ds when we hit the beach (otherwise we only go out before 10 and after 4 -- he's hard enough to catch w/o being greased up lol) , usually what I have a coupon for, or is one the less $$y side. Lean to banana boat, b/c of the scent. I just bought a keeper, but haven't tried it yet. I use all free amd clear or arm and hammer f&c... no troubles w/ it. Never tried a shampoo bar.

2. Natural bug repellent (especially for babies/kids)

We used to use Green Ban, but now we usually make up our own spray using oil and essential oils

3. sunscreen for babies/kids

Jason's

4. mama pads

Pretty Pads or my own
In all fairness, the only pads I have tried were Pretty Pads, I know there are many great ones out there!

5. Detergent for diapers

Sun and Earth

6. Also, what do you think of shampoo bars? Do they really work? (that way, when I try mine I'd like to know what to expect)

I think they do work.. I use the Burt's Bees baby one on my children and sometimes I used the J.R. Ligget's for my hair
(I have curly hair and the j.r. ligget's does well for)

Right now my fav soaps are Oh Baby from www.soapbytami.com (though Kristi at www.mamasfavorites.com is running an awesome sale .... 3 bars for $8) and Danica's Ginger Orange & Earth Papa www.thesoapdeck.com

Aubrey Organics Green Tea Sunscreen & Jason Naturals Sunbrella for Kids are my fav sunscreens.

When I CD'd I used either All Free & Clear or Cheer Free with a scoop of Biz, then just vinegar in the 2nd wash.

Danica's shampoo bars are awesome, they can double as soap too. I think she has a bunch of EO ones on sale www.thesoapdeck.com

1. natural soap --I LOVE LOVE LOVE Tami's soap, especially in "fresh squeezed" YUM!

2. Natural bug repellent (especially for babies/kids, and has anyone tried Burts Bees repellent?) --N/A We don't have too many bugs near here, don't use it

3. sunscreen for babies/kids--I've been searching too....

4. mama pads--I mostly use pantyliners (I've only had a few periods in the last 4 years, and I'm trying to use the keeper, takes some getting used to). I have some by http://sugarplumbaby.com that I like.

5. Detergent for diapers -- I use Seventh Generation powder

6. Also, what do you think of shampoo bars? Do they really work? (that way, when I try mine I'd like to know what to expect)--sorry, never tried them

1. natural soap --I've been addicted to Danicas soaps for over a year now. I just picked up some seconds this week... using tidal wave in the kitchen, plum pudding in my bathroom, suede in the shower and my all time fave is almond joy

2. Natural bug repellent (especially for babies/kids, and has anyone tried Burts Bees repellent?) -- no, i've not used that. We usually pick up Aubreys organics spritz on repellent for camping.

3. sunscreen for babies/kids--Aubreys makes one of those too

4. mama pads--I've really liked Pretty pads, lizcloth, rythm and blues... am in some trades now for mama ppd pads so i can try some new ones tho

5. Detergent for diapers -- biokleen !

6. Also, what do you think of shampoo bars? Do they really work?
Yes. they do. I've also recently learned that Danicas shampoo bars can be run under the tap to make an all natural, lovely smelling bubble bath!

1. natural soap - I like the Blue Heron Soap that I carry. My favorite scent is Almond Oatmeal

2. Natural bug repellent (especially for babies/kids, and has anyone tried Burts Bees repellent?) - I have tried many of the natural repellents and have never found one that truly worked, especially when we are at the lake. I am guilty of using commercial mosquito repellents since we've already had our first cases of West Nile this year.

3. sunscreen for babies/kids - I use Jason Natural For Kids Only sunscreen.

4. mama pads - never tried any

5. Detergent for diapers - All Free and Clear (although we are out of diapers here now)

6. Also, what do you think of shampoo bars? Do they really work? - Never tried them

Soap-Dreamseeds-that is my personal line and since I know how excellent the ingredients are, I am very pleased with the quality of nourishing herbs, oils and essential oils that goes into every batch of my scratch made soap.
*Commercial Over* lol

Bug repellant-My own spray made with Essential oils is really working well for us. Take some distilled water or witch hazel and add rose geranium (very good for ticks) or eucalyptus, tea tree, lavender, lemongrass, citronella, cedar, or any combination you like. It works well!
Use distilled water instead of regular water unless you know you will use it up quickly. Bacteria grows in water much easier than distilled. The EO's help but it is a great inexpensive precaution.

Mama PAds-Kristins Cloth Pads

Diaper Detergent-Sal suds, seventh generation, Dr Bronners, whatever I have available.

Shampoo Bars- The only ones I have used are my own. I have been using mine faithfully for over a week now and it gets my hair squeaky clean. I do need conditioner after I shampoo, but with my thick hair, I always have.

Sunscreen is the only one I do not have a recommendation for. I am not sure they are very good for you, so I only use them when we know we will be out int he sun all day.

1. natural soap: I either use moondancesoaps.com Lavender & Oatmeal soap, Sunkissed soap, Tea Tree Wake-up bar soap or Almonds Milk & Honey soap For the kids we use either moondancesoaps.com Baby's 1st Soap-Calendula & Oatmeal, Arbonne Baby Care soap, or Burt's Bees Baby Bees Buttermilk soap

2. Natural bug repellent: Again it is a moondancesoaps.com product. We use their Baby's Bug Odd spray or the Burt's Bee's Herbal Insect Repellent! Love them Both!

3. sunscreen for babies/kids: Jason Kid's Block sunblock

4. mama pads: Haven't tried them yet but are ordering Pretty pads

5. Detergent for diapers: Almost out fo the diaper stage but I love BioKleen for all laundry

6. Also, what do you think of shampoo bars? Do they really work? I really like them!

Favorite Soap: Tami's- my current faves are Enchantment and Black Tea&Berries

Natural Bug repellent- the Skin So Soft sunscreen/bug repellent for kids by Avon, works great for us!

Mama Cloth- Kristin's Cloth and Liz's Cloth

Laundry for Cloth- Still trying to figure it out; I do love BioKleen's Bac Out as an additive; but biokleen itself doesn't do well in our water- does great for my friend, though.
