Vinegar is great. I mix it with water-50/50 or so...and use it to clean every surface. It works great on mirrors! You can add a few drops of essential oils to the mix if you want. Like -tea tree or eucalyptus which are both antibacterial. Or Lavendar-which is somewhat antibacterial-and smells great.
Also, baking soda is great for scouring...soap scum, whatever. I will rub baking soda around for the scouring action, then rinse and spray with my vinegar solution. You can also clean your fruits and veggies withbaking soda.
The other tip that I really like is=for your toilets-use your toilet brush on your toilets every day. If your 'swirl' with that toilet brush every day-or every couple of days the toilets stay sooooo clean! This also works in the bathtub too. After dd or I take a bath-I take a non-abrasive scouring pad(that I dedicate to the tub) and rub down the tub with it then rinse once with clean water. No soap scum Sooo cool.
My house is really clean-and that is basically all I use. Another scouring type cleaner which is totally safe is Bon Ami. And if you have a white porcelain sink you can't get the scratches out of with baking soda or Bon Ami-Bar Keepers friend is Septic safe-has no chlorine in it...and makes the porcelain white.

I use a peppermint Dr. B's & distilled water solution to clean everything except the toilet & tub. I use baking soda & tea tree EO to clean them.
Vinegar works great, its a natural antibacterial, but I just couldn't deal with the smell or it curdling my Dr. B's.
HTH!

thanks! Thats what I was hoping for, and thanks for the EO tip. I would've never thought of that , and dh was the one keeping me from using the vinegar because of the smell lol..
Off to go clean now! Thanks!!

Here is a recipe from the Suess page. For some reason I can't bring it up to give you a link so I'll just type it out here:
Household Cleaning Spray:
Use a 16 oz. trigger squirt bottle
Fill the bottle 2/3 full of water and then add 3 Tbsp. of Dr. B's
Add white vinegar till the bottle is almost full (leave some room)
Add 10-20 drops of tea tree oil and shake it up to mix ingredients
5 drops of rosemary, sweet orange, or lavender for fragrance, and disinfecting properties
Suess says "I use this to clean everything from my kitchen to the bathroom, counters, tables, baby toys, I mean everything, except glass. This is a disinfectant, to be used instead of bleach, or Lysol type cleaners."
