I want to create a poll post but have no idea how to do it.

When you create a new thread, there's an option near the bottom of the page which you can click on to "Post a poll:" (it's right under "Attach a file:"). You need to know how many answers to the poll you're going to want (2-10 possible). After you "submit thread" then you'll be prompted for the poll question and answers, and whether or not you want the answers to be multiple choice (more than one answer possible per person).

You cannot post a poll without starting a new thread, as far as I know.
