My 7mth old dd has started this habit of grabbing onto the flesh around my nipple and scratching and kneading it, almost like she is trying to make more milk come out. It hurts so much but what do I do? I have tried mittens like they have for newborns but she screams and won't have it. I have been holding her one hand closest to me and that works most times but what to do about that other hand? I have scabs! She has also started teething and biting me but we are working on that and I think she will stop soon. But it makes me one sore and frustrated mama! Any ideas girls? kate

Some people swear by nursing necklaces - the idea is that the baby will reach for and twiddle with the beads instead. You do have to have a sturdily constructed necklace for this tho! Some people here sell them new, or you might be able to find one used (here or on ebay or wahmall). HTH!

I am currently going through the same thing with Peyton. She is also 7 months old.

I haven't figured out anything yet though :)
