A Pastie is basically meat, potatos, and carrots in a dough crust shell.
What you need:
Carrots
Potatos
Stew Meat
Flour
Crisco
Salt
Pepper
Milk
Butter
Beef Boullion Cube (a couple) if you desire
1st:
Cut the meat into tiny bite size pieces
Peel and cut the carrots into pieces as well as the potatos
Mix all together in a bowl
Add pepper and salt a few shakes
In a seperate bowl:
Mix 2 cups flour and 4 tablespoons crisco and blend together
Add a little milk at a time to make a ball of dough
Put flour on the table and spread around
Grab your ball of dough and roll out in a circle shape, put about a cup or what you desire of meat, potato, and carrots on one side, put a dab of butter on top of the mix and then grab the other side of the dough and pull over and press the 2 sides together to close it. Then put it on a cookie sheet and spread a little milk over it. After you finish all the pasties put them in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hr.
To make it easier I cut up the meat and carrots the night before so I don't have to do it all at the same time.
Also, the recipe for the flour isn't that much. I don't do a lot at one time so I don't have a lot of dough left over. I do just enough to do so many pasties and then if I need more I just make more dough.
I hope this is not hard to understand. It's kinda hard to explain lol. If you have any questions feel free to pm me. :)
