View Full Version : want to help me with my new place?
this is it so far! any and all ideas are welcomed! I dont have every last bit of stuff over here just yet, but I'm about 80% moved in!
what color should I paint my bathroom wall behind the mirror, if any?
what pieces of furniture do you think should be rearranged?
what color/style of curtains should I get for my kitchen? i will attach a picture of the fabric im thinking of. I was going to go with light blue with apple and pear print, but i decided i dont want more blue.
first batch. bathroom, livingroom
2nd. quilt on wall is opposite wall from cough in livingroom. bedroom. kitchen.
3rd. kitchen. fabric I am considering for curtains for kitchen.
So cute! you've done a great job. I love how you use your space, and I really like that curtain fabric for the kitchen.
update:
I now have everything I own except my vehicle crammed into this tiny apartment. It isnt so cute and quaint. I just finished cleaning the other place today so the next few days I will be spending nesting, purging, and going OCD with organization!
I talked to the manager here today, we are on a casual conversation basis, and i told her how awful the medicine cabinet is. the shelves are warped, weak and have water stains on them. I asked her if I could install a mirror instead (of course paying out of my pocket). she is fine with that. so I removed the cabinet a few minutes ago and am planning on getting one of these mirrors instead:
IKEA | Decoration & mirrors | Mirrors | KOLJA | Mirror (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/30133522)
so, for $20 plus hardware, I will have a pretty mirror! I am also considering painting that same wall a sagey green color. My color choices of paint I already own are butter yellow and the very pale cool blue in my kitchen. Neither of them appeal to me. I think the pale sage color would look ok with the peach tiled counter....maybe?
square mirror was 10 bucks cheaper. spotlight was I think 6 or 9 bucks. the ceiling light is horrible for applying makeup. The rest of my house is in absolute chaos, and this was the easiest room to get to "just so", and now I can think and breathe and focus on finding hands to unload my excess stuff into to make my tiny sq ft place livable.
as of 5 minutes ago:
should I use flourescent for the overhead light or the mirror light? incandescent for either?

thanks. the kitchen is really cluttered right now, never ending dirty dishes. I am still trying to figure out where to put everything. Thought I had downsized enough but nope! still way too much stuff. I will present kitchen once it is looking better. for now, I have boring white curtains.
