So Lauren is ready to start Sept 1, but I can't figure out if I should put her in the K-2 (so she gains confidence in using the computer system and also in the terminology they use) or in the 3-4 (which I think will give her a real challenge at first). Nathan was 4th grade when he started, so it was obvious, and his advisor told us that he needed to start at the beginning of the 3-4, not in the middle, so that he could gain confidence in the program and it would fill any gaps.
She is not real confident on the computer like the boys always have been. (She still doesn't 'get' the remote for the TV - and that is how the boys learned their numbers! lol)
So, what would you do?

I started Erik in the K-2, but he was in K at the time. However, he was already doing math at a 3rd grade level then, and the K-2 was totally a review. However, he hadn't done formal math and I wanted to make sure there were no gaps. He did K in less than a week, slogged through 1st (It was a bit boring for him then), and had fun in 2nd. He did all three in a month and a half or less, I can't quite remember.
She has to do the placement test, though, right? So you'll find out from the test where she's at, and that will give some clarity.

I haven't paid the fee yet - was waiting for our financial aid to be posted. But to register, you need to register for a class... I'm not sure which one I should do. I can't find anywhere that shows her advisor, either. :/ Maybe I will email Nathan's advisor about it and see what he says. I'm really leaning towards K-2, and she can work her way from the very beginning.

I didn't regret starting at K-2, even though a lot of it (most of it) was review. If it is all review, it will go fast for her. If she starts getting annoyed, you can then email the advisor and switch her up?

probably. I think that is what I will do. I can get her paid for and everything this payday - so I'll just have her register for the K-2.

So, what did you do?
I just went to reapply for financial aid, as ours had expired with his last course. And I found this blurb:
EPGY encourages all families in difficult or unusual financial situations to apply for financial aid. This includes having more than one student enrolled in EPGY. Financial aid will be given in the form a tuition reduction scholarship. EPGY is currently revising our financial aid policy. Requests for financial aid will be accepted after January 1, 2009. At present, financial aid is not available for overseas students, for students attending the EPGY Summer Institutes, or for students taking more than one course at a time.
So, it says Jan 09, but there is NO link around. I'll have to email, I guess.
