Hey y'all! I am 30 from NJ and have just two little girls so far -ages 5 and 4. DH and I are planning on having another soon. Always wanted a big family. Anyhoo, I was wondering about the types of vehicles you drive. I was reading the posts about having a "heavy footprint" with a large family. I am interested in reducing our footprint...but as I have read here....I am not the only one to reduce waste and consumption. It is difficult to find exactly what you are looking for in a vehicle right now (unless they develope hydrogen powered trucks and vans this year....not likely!).

I just wondered because I couldn't find the post about this anywhere. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to buy now and have to buy again if we add more onto the family in the future. I'd rather get the vehicle that suits our lifestyle now and be able to fit as much as we can. We camp a lot so that is stuff...plus people (kids, friends, etc). Thanks in advance and sorry if this is already posted somewhere else.

We have an 8 passenger toyota sienna minivan. It hauls ALL our cargo, nicely. But, it was really the best option for us with five (occasionally 6) kids. We're pretty limited and the hybrids for 8 passengers are all SUVs - so the hybrid aspect really doesn't matter. They still suck gas.

a friend of mine has the sienna. it is really nice! I never thought I'd be a "minivan mom" but with the demands of life and all the things we want to do....plus the mileage! Hard to resist! I think anything bigger would just suck up more gas...

Right now, I have a wagon that will fit three in the back if we SQUEEEEEZE..and I don't feel that is safe *obviously* So I have to deal with the obvious larger tank...

Thanks for your input, Sandi!
